Work In Progress

Multi-Vendor vs Unified Platform Cost Comparison

An interactive planning tool that helps CIOs compare the true cost of a multi-vendor approach to end-user computing vs a unified platform.

Why This Matters

Enterprise workspace management often drifts into vendor sprawl — Microsoft for the base, then bolt-on solutions for every gap. The hidden costs of integration, training, staffing, and operational complexity are rarely calculated upfront. This planner makes those costs visible.

The Digital Workspace Planner is a free, interactive tool that helps technology leaders model the real cost of managing end-user computing across multiple vendors versus consolidating onto a unified platform.

The Problem

Most organisations start with Microsoft E3/E5 and then add point solutions for each capability gap — ITSM integration, endpoint monitoring, mobile threat defense, vulnerability management, and more. Each vendor adds licensing costs, but the hidden costs are larger: integration projects, training across multiple platforms, additional IT staff, and increased help desk complexity.

What It Does

  • 12 capability gap areas with editable per-user costs based on market-researched pricing
  • Hidden cost modelling for integration, training, staffing, and help desk overhead
  • Side-by-side comparison with interactive charts showing cost breakdown, cumulative spend, and operational complexity
  • Operational savings quantification including admin time, vendor management, and help desk reduction
  • Fully editable — adjust every assumption to match your environment

Built With

Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Recharts. All calculations run client-side with no data collection.
